With EIP-1559 live since August 2021 and the Merge to Proof-of-Stake fast approaching, the economic landscape of Ethereum is in profound transformation. Ethereum and its native asset—ether—secure a growing ecosystem of scaling solutions with rollups taking centre stage for decentralised applications and their users.

At ETHconomics, we seek to examine the dynamics and tensions existing among the economic participants of this emergent system. Topics of interest include:
