When can I expect an answer to my application?

We will be accepting volunteers on a rolling basis. There is no strict end-date, but we highly encourage people to apply as soon as possible! We aim to reach out to the first wave of candidates by Fri, 26th July 2024.
When is the deadline to apply as a volunteer?

There is no deadline to apply. However, we fill our vacancies on a rolling basis and stop accepting applications once all our positions are filled. Therefore we encourage you to submit an application as soon as possible!
Does the Devcon Team provide accommodation/travel to Devcon volunteers?

We won’t be able to cover travel and accommodation, but, however, Thailand has many affordable hotels and hostels which are very close to the conference venue which we encourage everyone to take a look at!
What are the expectations from volunteers?
- Be present in Bangkok from November 9th to the 16th, 2024
- Volunteer a minimum of 2 days during Devcon, checking in on time for your shifts, and enjoy the event on the other 2 days!
- Join the mandatory half-day in-person training session on Sunday, November 10th.
- Be willing to assist with all aspects of the event (registration, speakers, door duty, info desk, etc.)
What are the volunteering perks?

- Invitation to the Volunteer Thank You Celebration on Friday, 15th November.

How do I know if I am fit to be a volunteer lead?

There is no strict background that we expect our volunteer leads to have. However, past experience in leadership can be a huge plus. You will never know unless you try, so just apply!
I already bought a ticket to Devcon, will I get a refund in case I get selected to be a volunteer?

Yes!
If I do not get accepted as a volunteer, can I still buy a ticket to Devcon?

Of course!
Can I still apply to be a volunteer in case I am a Devcon Scholar?

Yes, you can! But you need to communicate your commitments at Devcon ahead of time so that we can take it into account while crafting the volunteer schedule.
